VCA On Proliant 1600 Installation Error

I have a few 1600 file servers that are running windows 2000.

When I run a software update on our proliant1600 series servers throught the vca 1servers I get the following error

This installation has detected that one or more TLAN controllers are
installed in your system. TLAN controllers are not supported by this
utility and must be removed from your system before installation can be
performed.

Please help

We also have this issue and I understand you can diable the controller in the BIOS but we're unsure of the steps involved.
Did you find a resolution to this issue?
