VCAgent Internal Error

When I try to view the Version Control Agent page on several of our servers I am getting this error:

Internal Error:
An error occurred while formatting the page for display.

The log file reads:
An error occurred while parsing XML data.

This happening on 30 out of 120 servers. All various models and HPSIM agent versions.

P.S. This happened after using the new HPSIM to replicate VCAgent settings.

Hello,

I'am having the same problem (on HP SIM 5.2)

It occurs after a "Software Status Polling task" has ran.

I need to restart the "Version Control Agent" on the servers to fix this error, but the next time the task will run, the VC Agent will generate this error again.

Let me know if you find a solution

The only way we are able to fix this error is by manually uninstalling the VCAgent and re-installing the latest version 2.1.10.800.

This does not fix the software status icon in HPSIM 5.2 console though.

Just another update...Switched back to using "Trust All" then used HPSIM 5.2 to Deploy / Deploy Drivers, Firmware and Agents / Install Software and Firmware / then installed latest version control agent.

Now all servers are reporting correctly in HPSIM. So is this just an issue with the "Trust by Certificate" or something else???

Thats not a workarround if you got about 250 managed win/linux servers in your HPSIM environment. (reinstalling VCA en and reinserting the trusted certificated) I think this is a BUG in hpsim 5.2, this has to be resolved with an Hotfix.

Can you please give the version numbers for:
SMH

HPSIM

PSPs

Is this just when you try to view the VCA page or is there a deployment/upgrade involved in this error? Thanks.

It happened after using HPSIM 5.2's replicate Version Control Agent settings to point to a new HPSIM server. Installing the latest version of the VCA seemed to have fixed my issues.

Same problem here.

We have 3 HP SIM servers, about 2000 nodes in them. 1 SIM server updated to 5.2.
That one is having problems with managed nodes accessing the VCR. At first no problems. But after one day I tried to add 3 new nodes. That worked perfectly but no green sign in column SW.
Rebooted the server. After that accessing VC-agent gave message:

Internal Error: An error occurred while formatting the page for display.

Seems to be some security issue.
Had that before when implementing PSP7.40.
PSP7.41 corrected that. The issue that time was that de Management HomePage didn't provide the trust voor VC-agent anymore.
Problem/symptoms seem the same?

Any solution yet?

FIXED!

I left for the weekend and now the trust seem to have reastiblished...
Perhaps the update to 5.2 did cause the VCRM to start a maintanance in the background that did take quite some time?

Only thing I had to do is to manually start a software polling task and all green sign in colomn SW were back giving directly access to the VC agents.
