I have a virtual Windows Server 2008 R2 server on a Hyper-V host, with SIM 6.2 installed. On this same server I have also installed the VCRM 6.2.0.820, but I cannot get this "registered" in SIM in any way. I have re-identified the server in SIM, but it still does not show the VCRM. The VCRM is showing green in the System Management Homepage of the server.
Is it not possible to have a VCRM on the same server as SIM, or is there something else wrong here?
Many thanks for any help you can provide.
Regards, Arjan.

Re: VCRM not visible in SIM
Try to chek the communication between both systems, try to access the VCRM website from the SIM server.
Regarding having VCRM and SIM on the same server, it is possible and it will be faster in case you want to distribute the software to server.

Re: VCRM not visible in SIM
I can access the VCRM page without problems from the SIM server, as it is in fact the same server.

Re: VCRM not visible in SIM
As long as it is connecting try to make the local SMH on VCRM to trust the SIM server.
Ensure that you select HTTP under Global Protocol Settings and a username and password that has access to this node is added to the settings, you can use system protocol settings for appling this to VCRM node only.

Re: VCRM not visible in SIM
I have made the changes your proposed, but unfortunately SIM still does not see the VCRM installed on the server.
I have attached the identify log, as this will probably give you more information on the problem... I have a feeling it has something to do with the fact that this is a virtual server, but perhaps I am incorrect?

Re: VCRM not visible in SIM
what is the version of the VCRM machine
As I see it supports SSH.
Second, the log shows that this machine does not have SMH, is this correct or not.
---
The System Management Homepage is not installed on this system. It may not be supported.
-----
So that's why the VCRM is not detected.

Re: VCRM not visible in SIM
This is a Windows Server 2008 R2 server (x64).
The SMH is installed on this system and the VCRM is running correctly (see attached image).

Re: VCRM not visible in SIM
Can you disable the local firewall temporary and try to rerun the Indentification task again.

Mahmoud

Re: VCRM not visible in SIM
There is no firewall running on this server. Has been turned off since installation of Windows.

Re: VCRM not visible in SIM
Check on the SMH setting the Binding options and make it binding to the IP address of the machine.
By another meaning try to access the SMH not by local host try it with IP address and check if it works or not and do the proposed above.

Mahmoud
