VMM 3.7 & HP SIM 6.0 - Not functioning though licensed!

Hi,

Got HP VMM 3.7 and HP SIM 6.0.

I get 4 ESX servers listed up in License Manager as licensed, as configured by me( Free Trials).

ESXs' are properly identified and re-indentified after licensed.

What is happening here? Very frustrating!

Thanks on beforehand,

Not exactly sure what the problem is.
"Not functioning" is the only clue.
Could you expand on what is not working?
Also include the version of ESX.

Re: VMM 3.7 & HP SIM 6.0 - Not functioning though licensed!

Sorry about that, went off in a bit of a hurry!

Server
Virtual Machine Host, VMware ESX Host, HP ProLiant, x86 System, SMI, Storage
ProLiant DL580 G5
Linux trvmp01.hemit.helsemn.no 2.6.18-128.ESX #1 Thu Oct 15 16:11:16 PDT 2009 x86_64
VMware ESX
Hypervisor
4.0.0
OS Description 2.6.18-128.ESX
Management Protocols SNMP:1.0, WBEM:1.0, SSH:SSH-2.0-OpenSSH_4.3

When I go the ESX server and expand virtual machines I get the following message:

Virtual Machine Host Configuration Details
The virtual machine host has not been licensed. To activate a license for this virtual machine host, use HP SIM menu (Deploy->License Manager). For more information about licensing virtual machine hosts refer to HP ProLiant Essentials Virtual Machine Management Software User Guide.

But they are licensed as they show in license manager. I've re-identified them also.

I asked our network guy to see if traffic was blocked, nothing was. I only saw port 443 between HP SIM and the ESX. VMM use different ports, right?

Could there be something on ESX blocking something? Internal FW etc?

Re: VMM 3.7 & HP SIM 6.0 - Not functioning though licensed!

Also I have the hpvmmsvc.log full of these:

ERROR - CPU limit exceeds short data type limit! Actual value is: 200276

And the CPU of my HP SIM-server is sky high as the process hpvmmsvcj.exe is running off.

Also licence.log shows the following:

License key is not used by any node.

Not very logical to me.

Re: VMM 3.7 & HP SIM 6.0 - Not functioning though licensed!

BUMP!

Also the HPVMM seems to log on the ESXs' every ten seconds, spamming the event log!

Some help will be awarded!
