VMM
I've installed and configured the Virtualization Management Pack per the instructions but am unble to view guest VM's on the host server through SIM.
I am receiving the message, "Could not contact the VMM service". I verified that the agent service is running on the VM Host but the VMM service on the CMS moves to a stopped state after several minutes. Nothing is being recorded in the event logs on the CMS.
Am running SIM 5.0 SP4 on Windows 2003, VMM version 2.0.2
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: VMM
What's the VM Software? the current version of VMM doesn't support VMWare ESX 3.0/3.0.1
VMM 2.1 is due very soon that does support this.
Generally I've seen the above error when the VMM Service has died. The reason I found for this here was a Port Conflict, one of our Trend Micro products was grabbing a port VMM uses. Check the HPVMM Log.

Re: VMM
I checked the logs and I am having a port conflict with Trend. How can I change/specify which port VMM uses?

Re: VMM
In the short term just stop the Trend Service, restart the VMM Service and give it a couple of minutes and then restart the Trend Service.
For a longer term solution see the thread:
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1037019
And look for a response I got from Neeti.
If this fixes your issue I may need to give him double points!
