When running this on a DL360 G4 server winth Windows 2003 I get this error

The Version Control Agent encountered an error while obtaining the software and firmware inventory

I have reinstalled everything. Made sure the SNMP service was configured properly.

what error? access or wrong PSP version? Also have you configured successfully VC agent settings through System management page?

I get that on a W2k3 DL360 G4 Storage Server.

Still not sure what's causing it, it also shows as NULL for the product..

The fact that you get that error and your system shows up as NULL would tend to point to some sort of SNMP misconfiguration.

The VCA actually gets the software and firmware inventory by making SNMP calls. The information is actually collected by the SNMP Foundation Agent.

Thanks for the suggestions. I figured out that the SNMP service had to be pointed to the local host. That fixed my problem
