I was originally on HP SIM 6.2 and then upgraded to 7.1 and immediately patched to 7.1.1. Now every server shows the "Unknown" icon for software status in SIM.
Certs are imported
Trust is established
Software scan completes successfully with no errors
Updateed client to latest VCAgent and SMH - repeated scan
No luck...
Everything that I have always done with VC for the past, I don't know,10 years (however long Version Control has been available in SIM) is setup and in place just like it has always been.
Any ideas why this is broken (besides the obvious, the SIM upgrade broke it).

SolutionI had to assign all my servers to a Software Baseline in HP SIM. This must be new with version 7 as I never had to do this before with earlier versions.
1) Open SIM
2) On main menu, click "Deploy" then "Software/Firmware Baselines" then "Manager Software/Firmware Baselines..."
3) For each support pack (based on OS) listed, assign appropriate guests to the support pack baseline and save it.
4) Run a new Software Status job on all your servers
5) Software status icon changes from question mark to green/yellow/orange depending on the status of each server
