What is the level security needed for HP SMH ?
Hello,
We have install the Insight Agent with the System Management Homepage. The SMH have been install with the option :
select use of domaine\user .
configure the trust by all.
select trust all.
But the only user allowed to login is the local administrator.
There no way to allow a simple user ? It just to view the stat of the server.
For us to use an administrator account just to "view" can be a security issue...

Re: What is the level security needed for HP SMH ?
The trust relation setting is only used for people using HP Systems Insight Manager to get single-signon and other trusted actions between it and the SMH. Trust All is not a recommended setting, in fact Trust By Certificate is the only recommended setting. If you are not using HPSIM then just turn the setting back to Trust By Certificate as that is the default setting. This setting has nothing to do with what users can sign-in to the SMH. If you are using HPSIM it provides a method to get secure access to SMH without having to login again when you want to access a server's SMH from within HPSIM.
There are 3 different levels of access for the SMH. Administrator, Operator, and User are the different levels. By default the Window's Administrator group is given Administrator rights to the SMH. If you want to just "view" data. Then you can create an OS group called: SMHUsers. You then put the userid's that you want to use within that group. You then go to the SMH and go to the "settings" tab then the security link for SMH settings - here you can add the group SMHUser in the "User Groups" link to give those users only "user" access.
I went through that pretty quick - but the online docs on the HP website and the online Help for SMH should describe some of this for you.
