disabled NIC sending alerts

I have a Windows 2000 server that has a major alarm on it. It is complaining of a link failure on a NIC. This would normally be a concern, but this NIC is disabled on the server. Is there some way to make HP Insight Manager realize we don't care about this NIC?

Re: disabled NIC sending alerts

If you mean by 'diabled' that it's not plugged in, then the agent is properly reporting the status. If the NIC is disabled in Control Panel --> Network Connections, then the agent won't have an operating system device to report on.

Re: disabled NIC sending alerts

Well yesterday was Monday and I could of sworn that NIC was disabled. I looked at it again today and of course it wasn't. So my mistake and never mind.
Thanks..
