fresh install of sim and some boxes wont enable monitoring ?

We have a fresh install of Sim 6.1 and i have scanned a new vlan that we have created that hosts a lefthand P4500 network device it detects the 6 units but they are showing as being disabled in the monitoring but they have never been monitored by sim before. If i try enabling the monitoring on these systems it says it completes successfully but the machines still show as disabled ? has anyone seen this before ?
