how to run custom commands on VMS or UNIX?
We try to run a simple custom command from our management console on a VMS machine.
Therefore we used 2 VMS machines as the target computers. The custom command consisted out of a simple "DIR" which runs fine on VMS and Microsoft. After running the command we saw it ran on the management computer (W2000) instead of the intended targets (VMS). Can this work at all, are we facing a bug or are we just doing something wrong?

Re: how to run custom commands on VMS or UNIX?
The "Command Line Tools" that let you create your own tools only allows creation of tools that run on the central management server. In order to create a TDEF for distributing the tasks to other systems, you must write your own XML and insert it. There are some good examples of these in the Tools subdirectory where hpSIM is installed. There's another good example of one at http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=587829
Also, don't forget that you need to distribute keys with mxagentconfig. I'm also not sure if any official testing has been done with OpenVMS.
