Re: Monitoring servers with SIM using ilo only

this is actually working with HPSIM 7.5 now. We have ILOs mpnitored through HPSIM and it is reporting the events from the ILOs. We use SNMP configuration for communication.

Thank you,

Re: Monitoring servers with SIM using ilo only

Hi ravideol,

Firstly make sure ILO are Gen8 and above beause the lower generations are not supported by SIM.

Do the discovery for the ILO using SNMP communication meaning- Configure SNMP community string on the ILOs and give the same string in credentials while discovering. Also, add the SIM server's IP address as SNMP trap destination on the IILO. You should all be good.

You may check the link below for more information: and Give me Kudos if it works:

Also if you need servername and OS info you need to install the AgentLess Management Software.

The Windows X64 version can be downloaded here : http://h20564.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_1338aab98aa04b0391e73c3976

There also are Linux and ESX versions of this software. The big Advantage is that you don't need OS credentials for monitoring just the AMS on the OS is enough. If needed you can script the ILO settings with hponcfg on the servers using an XML to set community and trap destinations..

Kind regards,

Andrew
