it seems that since updating vcenter to rollup update 1 (build 345043) hpsim has lost it's communication to vcenter...
please see attached screenshot!
the problem is: i cannot EDIT the settings to verify them, - if pressing EDIT i can enter port, user name and password, - but not the system name /address field, - this is greyed out. trying to remove the failed vcenter setting completely results in another error: " "System Name/Address" cannot be empty string or only spaces."...
trying the NEW button and add my vcneter server again results in: "vCenter Server has already been added"...
anybody else ever seen this?
tnx! gerald
p.s.: this worked already...

SolutionHP BladeSystem Matrix - VMware vCenter Settings Cannot Be Edited and "VMM is unable to connect to vCenter"
Issue
VMware vCenter Settings in HP SIM lost communication with the vCenter node.
When trying to edit or remove the vCenter server node settings an error is displayed that shows System Name/Address cannot be empty string or only spaces .
The Edit vCenter Server Settings field shows all fields empty.
Clicking on View Details shows the error that the connection is refused.
Solution
As a workaround delete the vCenter settings and redefine the vCenter connection.
Deleting the failed vCenter setting can be done as follow:
Go to C:\Program Files\HP\Insight Control virtual machine management\clientapi\bin .
Type adminlogin.cmd .
Type cli unregisterVE -VELayer VMWare -host

Re: hpsim vcenter config: vmm is unable to connect to vcenter...
I am new to HP SIM.
How to add a vCenter in HP SIM? Is it same as other servers.?
If vCenter is added in HP SIM,what info we can get from that ?Will it send heart-beat details and host info ?
Thanks in Advance!!

Re: hpsim vcenter config: vmm is unable to connect to vcenter...
you can configure vcenter integration into hp sim via hp sim web gui:
option - vmware vcenter settings
