Re: hpsmhd.exe running at 50% CPU
I noticed the same problem on my server.
I got an HighCPUUsage Alert by OpManager, because HPSMHD.EXE process was running at 50% CPU. After 20 minutes this was gone by itself.
@Ben: Was you able to fix this problem?
It is a bug or feature (may be SMH try to collect some data)?
My Server: Win2k3 Server R2 SP1
PSP 7.60A, HP System Management Homepage v2.1.6.156

Re: hpsmhd.exe running at 50% CPU
Or install PSP version 9.1.
That was a problem with a MS patch and previews versions.

Hi Bryan, can you share which MS patch are causing this problem?
Apparently I could not find any recommended fix from HP other then the recomendation to install the latest version of HP System Management Homepage.
I also cannot find any article or knowledge sharing from Microsoft on this related issue as well.
Please advice.
