mxquery not working as expected ICE 6.3

To all,

 

I have run into a weird situation in regards to mxquery.  If I create a "Shared Collection" based on attributes and get on the command line and run mxquery, and I can see the collection I created as well as see it in the GUI.  Now create that same collection, except this time put something specific into your collection and then do an mxquery from the command line and you will find that you cannot find this Collection, but you will be able to see it in the GUI.  Is this a bug or expected behavior?
