passwd -l <user-name> error

I have a user on my L1000 (HPUX 11.23) with the following userID:

VSOURINTHONE

when I try to lock it via commad line or deactivate is via sam I get this error:

Invalid login name.


Any idea how to disable this account?

your input is greatly appreciated.
