sending trap info to Netcool

Hello,

I'm new to Insight, and actually we'll be installing it on Monday. My one question to you is this..... We are currently using Netcool to send out messages on the switches and routers that it's monitoring. Can Insight send trap info to netcool, and have netcool inform us of any problems? My boss would rather have it work this way.

HPSIM's strength is monitoring Servers, typically HP ones but it can keep an eye on Switches etc. as well.

HPSIM can forward traps from any Automatic Event handlingtask. So if you had a Event handler specifically set up for all Switch Events then they could all be forwarded as part of the event handling.

You should also be able to configure the Switches to send SNMP Traps to multiple destinations which may be another solution.

I'm actually looking to forward the traps from HPSIM to netcool, and have netcool send out the emails to the proper Engineers. Netcool has already been running in our shop for the last couple of months monitoring the switches and routers.
