16 port serial console server Console Port

Hi,

I am trying to configure an unused/new Af101A (16 port serial console server). But I am getting nowhere with it. I don't get any output on the serial Console Port.

Has anybody got it running and configured it via the serial console port?

Hi,

I did a reinitialization of the console server. So any challenge should normally be removed from the console port. It now has the default settings.

We used different cables and different PC's to connect to the console port. But no communication whatsoever. We will try and see what HP says..

Hi,

We finally got it to work.

We needed the special adapter of HP.This is how we got it to work:

install green adapter supplied with AF101A serial console switch on laptop/pc (partnumber: 393986-001 HP DCE-CAT5 MOD. Adapter)
connect utp cable between laptop/pc and console port on AF101A serial console switch

Configure your terminal or terminalemulationprogram as follows:
Baud-Rate: 9600
Data Bits: 8
Stop Bits: 1
Parity: None (N)
Flow Control: None (N)

Hit return a few times

Hewlett-Packard HPSCS16 S/W Version 1.6
Username: Admin
Password:
Authentication Complete (DEC-VT100)
HPSCS configuration is required.
