3rd party hardware support

My company is currently exploring oppurtunities to reduce budget and are thinking about getting hardware support from 3rd party providers i.e. IBM etc.

Personally this does not make me comfortable at all, but at the same time I have always worked with HP for support so dont know what the experience is like.

Can some you share your experiences?

It can be any worse than some of the support I have gotten form HP lately. Well, then again.
"The difference between me and you? I will read the man page." and "Respect the hat." and "You could just do a search on ITRC, you don't need to start a thread on a topic that's been answered 100 times already." Oh, and "What. no points???"
