HP 3000 mib

Hi,
See below; this message is in the reponse to the request by WUG ti verify that the mib for HP 3000 unit is the CPQPOWER.MIB 1.2 and it is correct, as when loaded on Whats Up Gold it shows errors.

Do I have the correct mib, can send me a link please?

Hello John,

The MIB files used for monitoring device via SNMP are written by the vendor. You may contact the HP's Technical Support to request a correct and more current MIB file for this particular device.
Thank you,

In response to your question:
I am trying to load a mib for the HP 3000 UPS power unit to WUG to do performance monitoring.

The only mib that I can find in the documentation from HP is the CPQPOWER.MIB version 1.2, I can add it to WUG but when I do load it I get errors.

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00383560/c00383560.pdf

Below is the error I get on WUG, when I view the mib.

MIB Module: CPQPOWER-MIB
File: C:\PROGRA~1\Ipswitch\WhatsUp\Data\Mibs/CPQPOWER-MIB.my
Status: FAILURE. 5 issues were found in the MIB and should be corrected.
Lines with errors or warnings: 205 222 2188

Warning: Did not find 'compaq' in module #-1 (C:\PROGRA~1\Ipswitch\WhatsUp\Data\Mibs/CPQPOWER-MIB.my)
Warning: Unlinked OID in CPQPOWER-MIB: cpqPower ::= { compaq 165 }

Re: HP 3000 mib

"HP3000" is the name of the older MPE servers.

You mean the R3000 UPS.

Maybe this helps?

Re: HP 3000 mib

I see a whole string of mibs that cover switches and servers, but not one specifically for the R3000 UPS.

Can you advise which specific MIB is the one for the R300UPS as I do not see it.

Re: HP 3000 mib

Hi John,

"compaq" and "cpqPower" are 2 OIDs "232" and "165" specifically assigned for HP (Compaq)and this MIB. "compaq" is defined in the cpqhost.mib and imported during MIB compiled. Since your WUG is not aware of it. Search for this line in the mib:
-- compaq OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { enterprises 232 }

Remove the comment "--" in front of "compaq" , save the MIB and run WUG again
