HP PowerTrust UPSs
For example, would it allow you to remotely powerdown and then powerup a router that is attached to it via one of the UPS input sockets.
Thanks in advance.

Re: HP PowerTrust UPSs
Normally, it is ok if it just shut off - no data to loose.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP PowerTrust UPSs
We have a router here that for one reason or another needs to be powered down and restarted from time to time. Sometimes, this is at the weekend or nightimes.
There are IP power switch devices that you can buy (such as the one linked below) that allow you to remotely control the power to peripherals. I am trying to establish if the HP PowerTrust UPSs have this functionality.

Re: HP PowerTrust UPSs
There are daemons on the server (e.g. ups_mond) listening to events and force a shutdown - that's it.
Some newer models have different agents/daemons/software, but cannot switch off certain ports, so you need a device like linked in your own post (or shutdown your router by a script directly, if possible).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
