Re: HP Pro Liant DL 380p Gen8 server. Raid Hw-PMU resources.
You can ignore this error message, the kernel complains because there is no PS/2 device.
Check if your ILO NAND is damaged:

Hope this helps!

Re: HP Pro Liant DL 380p Gen8 server. Raid Hw-PMU resources.
It's not that difficult.
Update ILO firmware to 2.75 and check ILO health.
If there is the NAND issue visible (ILO health = degraded), Intelligent Provisioning will most likely not work.
Try to pull the power plugs for a complete ILO reset, then use the link to format the NAND.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP Pro Liant DL 380p Gen8 server. Raid Hw-PMU resources.
i am reading what i can, i can't follow the steps.
in this link
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c04996097
i stuck on step 2. I can't identify the correct product.
Step 1. Upgrade the iLO 4 firmware to version 2.61. To download the firmware. The latest version of the iLO 4 firmware is available as follows:
Note: For ESXi hosts booting from the Embedded SD Card (Gen8/Gen9)- it is strongly recommended to perform this step with the ESXi OS shutdown.
- Click the following link:
- Enter a product name (e.g., "DL380 Gen9") in the text search field and wait for a list of products to populate. From the products displayed, identify the desired product and click on the Drivers & software icon to the right of the product.

Re: HP Pro Liant DL 380p Gen8 server. Raid Hw-PMU resources.
Download the latest version here
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_7f55d032fd2046baaa592640f7
run it, select extract to get the *.bin file.
Connect to the ILO webpage and update using this *.bin file.
Power down, pull the power plugs, wait, reconnect and select "format NAND" on the ILO page.
Check ILO log if this was successful.
If yes, re-install Intelligent Provisioning version 1.71
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_a2b2caf8066e4a8b82a966d628
Hope this helps!

Re: HP Pro Liant DL 380p Gen8 server. Raid Hw-PMU resources.
Back to the original question about adding disks - you may download the SPP
boot from and start SSA from there.
You may also try
if you cannot get the version above, it *may* work too.
You can also use this:
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_321a88714bff4279abf175b9bd
Offline HPE Smart Storage Administrator (HPE SSA)
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: HP Pro Liant DL 380p Gen8 server. Raid Hw-PMU resources.
Please read my comment again. Run the *.exe anywhere and extract it.
You only need the included *.bin file.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
