HP Proliant DL360 G4 Setting HDDs to read-only

Hello! I bought a new HP Proliant DL360 G4 a couple days ago, and it's setting the hdd (I only have one) to read-only, therefore I can't install an os on it. I have clonezilla (linux live enviroment) to work with.
The drive is in RAID 0 because I can't turn RAID off, and the only other thing that has been changed is that I've turned iLo off because I have no need for it. If you need any other info just ask

Thanks for helping                                                                                                                                                    -InVaLiD

Re: HP Proliant DL360 G4 Setting HDDs to read-only

Hi,

The product DL360 G4 server is retired almost 10 years back.

It could be either with SCSI or SAS/SATA based RAID controller. We are not sure which is being purchased on your server.

The RAID capability cannot be turned off as the RAID controller does not behave as passthrough HBA card. The attached HDD needs to be configured in RAID only.

The OS clonezilla is not a recommended or certified OS on the server.

You can install RHEL 4 or 5 on the system. Refer https://techlibrary.hpe.com/us/en/enterprise/servers/supportmatrix/redhat_linux.aspx.

You may need to provide the driver while installing the OS on the server. The supported OS and drivers for this server are available at https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/km/product/433767/HPE-ProLiant-DL360-G4-Server?ismnp=0&l5oid=397638#t=DriversandSoftware&sort=relevancy&layout=table.

Regards,

KK
