Re: HP Rack and Power Manager cant communicate with R3000XR UPS
I am sure the password is OK after numerous reinstalls etc on 2 different servers now.
Initially I had to rebuild the server that was the HPRPM Manager due to software failure and it was when I put HPRPM back on that I got this error. The password is the same as the one that was previously being used. Whatever I do though, I get invalid username/password. I presume the password is not stored in the UPS though? Whether I have some sort of Internet Explorer issue I dont know
I have 8 servers hanging off this UPS and this is the only UPS I am concerned about
Thanks for your time

SolutionWould you be willing to try power manager 4.0? This I think is the best option.
http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/proliantstorage/power-protection/software/power-manager/index.html
If you decide to try PowerManager 4.0 the default username and password is both admin.
RPM is designed for more of the data center environement where power manager 4.0 is designed for the single UPS multi agent environment (similar to lansafe).
users guide for HPPM 4.0 --> http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00210166/c00210166.pdf
Let me know how it goes

Re: HP Rack and Power Manager cant communicate with R3000XR UPS
I shall try out Power Manager, I really only used HPRPM as the agents are already on the machines here.
Will let you know how I get on.

I have installed it onto my server and it worked perfectly.
Cheers
