HP UPS R5000/R7000 - power restored while shutdown sequence is started

Hello.

I want to connect HP UPS R-series with Network Module to power up HP Proliant servers (MS Windows 2012R2 onboard,  HPPP installed). I need to auto-power on servers in any case of power failure.

I'd like to know what will happend in this case: AC power is lost, UPS send's shutdown command to servers, and then AC power is back - Will UPS continue shutdown sequence and restart power on server at the end, OR shutdown sequence is aborted, there is no power restart on UPS output, and servers stay powered off?

Servers have configured BIOS with: "always power on when power is back"

Regards,

Tom

Hello Tomel,

I think server will continue in shutdows, as process was already iniciated a it is not very safe to have server somewhere in the middle of shutdown and not-shutdown.

But - it is very easy to test - just unplug you UPS input and wait until battery goes down and shutdows in iniciated...
