HP Z Turbo Drive Dual/Quad Pro on DL360p Gen8 server
Currently I have a cheap M.2 to PCIe expansion card which has only one M.2 Slot and thus, one nvme0n1 = 1TB is shown in my /dev directory (I use CentOS 7 directly on my server without VMvare or any hypervisor)
Now I plan to add another 1TB NVMe drive and I have decided to buy HP Z Turbo Dual or Quad Pro for that.
1. Has anybody tested this card physically on DL360p Gen8 server? I think the HP Z Turbo Quad Pro is too big for this server and it may prevent the server top cover to be closed correctly.
2. My second question is when I use those cards, how does OS display these NVMes?
Does it show like nvme0n1 = 1TB, nvme0n2 = 1TB ... ?
Or it Indicates aggregate like nvme0n1 = 2TB ?
Thanks

Re: HP Z Turbo Drive Dual/Quad Pro on DL360p Gen8 server
Hi,
Thank you for the Post.
Here we see that the mentioned Component is supported on desktop platforms of HP Z Workstations, including Z4, Z6 and Z8 G4, Z440, Z640, and Z840.
The DL360p Gen8 can support many third party cards that are PCIe 3.0 and previous generations compliant. HP ProLiant DL360p Gen8 does not actively support Full-Size GPGPU options in this generation. The DL360p Gen8 was designed to get the most of performance, storage and memory and had to reduce the PCIe slot space to Half-Length which does not accommodate most GPGPU cards
May have to check the Quickspecs of the Server Model and the NVME Model to get the supported and more details on installing them.
Thank you
RamKS
