HPE server DL380 Gen8 Storage capacity

Hi guys, this is my first post here.
I have a running HPE DL380 gen8 server.
Currently I have a raid0 and a raid5 running there.
I would like to create a raid 5 using Western Digital WD Red WD100EFAX 10Tb.
How can I confirm , those drives will work properly on my server ?
I can share storage info taken from ilo interface.

Controller Status OK
Serial Number 001438030BE24B0
Model HP Smart Array P420i Controller
Firmware Version 6.00
Cache Module Status OK
Cache Module Serial Number PBKUD0BRH6R1M7
Cache Module Memory 2097152 KB

Any advice , would be great.
Thanks !!!

Re: HPE server DL380 Gen8 Storage capacity

Hello,

This server doesn't support 10 TB hard disk.

Follow the below link for more reference.

HP ProLiant DL380p Gen8 Server - Option Parts

SA  P420i controller is running an older firmware version. Needs to update for better performance.

Re: HPE server DL380 Gen8 Storage capacity

Hi  @SanjeevGoyal ;
Thanks for your words.
Regarding hard drives:
According to Option Parts list you mentioned , max physic storage capacity is 3TB .
According to unofficial post I can see max 4TB physical storage capacity per bay.
Can you confirm what is max physic storage capacity per bay ?
Can you confirm what is max virtual storage capacity per raid ?
In order to get the most on storage capacity , and suppose it support 3TB max per bay.
Is it possible to create 5 x raid5 (4 x 3TB) virtual  drives?.

Regarding fw upgrade.
Currently server is on production and running proxmox pve.
What options I have to upgrade P420i  controller ?
This upgrade is service disrupting ?
Thanks!

Re: HPE server DL380 Gen8 Storage capacity

Hi, so I can choose one of this options:

Maximum Internal
Storage
Hot Plug SFF SAS 50.0TB 25 x 2TB (with optional SFF drive cage)
Hot Plug SFF SATA 50.0TB 25 x 2TB (with optional SFF drive cage)
Hot Plug LFF SAS 96.0TB 12 x 8TB (with optional LFF drive cage)
Hot Plug LFF SATA 96.0TB 12 x 8TB (with optional LFF drive cage)
Hot Plug SFF SAS SSD 48.0TB 25 x 1.92TB (with optional SFF drive cage)
Hot Plug SFF SATA SSD 96TB 25 x 3.84TB (with optional LFF drive cage)
Hot Plug LFF SAS SSD 19.2TB 12 x 1.6TB (with optional LFF drive cage)
Hot Plug LFF SATA SSD 46.08TB 12 x 3.84TB (with optional LFF drive cage)

Do I need specific P420i Controller version ? (It is wont be easy for me to upgrade , server is already in production)
What are those optional cages ?  Im not sure what is my server using:
I will share a front picture of my server:
