KVM Cat 5 0x1x8 with Cat 6 cables

Can I use Cat 6 cables with KVM Cat 5 ?

Miguel,

Yes - Cat 6 cables are backwards compatable with Cat 5 and 5e (as well as Cat 3). Each newer version provides cleaner signals (less crosstalk).

Any new cable installations should use Cat 6 even if they currently have no equipment that requires it - that is if you want to "future-proof" the installation.

All that being said, I doubt if your current KVM switches will be in use by the time KVM's require Cat 6, but it won't hurt.
