My (small) organization would like to set up an IPCOP firewall/proxy on our network ( IPCOP is a linux based OS which act as a firewall on the network ).
I'm looking for a basic server than could answer to our need which is simple :
- we need a server that is able to run 24/7 without any interruption ( in a ventilated room 16-17┬░ C ).
- server must be able to use 3 ethernet networks interfaces ( 1 integrated, 2 additionals ? )
So basically I've found servers like this one ( an equivalent, since I couldn't find how to put french store in english for you, I've searched in the english one ) :
http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/sm/WF06b/15351-15351-241434-3328424-3328424-3577708-3980025.html
Is this type of server able to run 27/4 ? have 3 network interfaces ? ( Expansion slots description make me think no, but some ( may be wrong ? ) googled pics of the chipset make me think yes... ).
May-be is there solution that are planned to answer that type of problem ?
Thanks in advance for any help !!

SolutionAlso, have you checked if that linux OS is supported? If it's not, have you checked if anybody else have tried it with the ML110 G5? Supposedly if it's not based on either of the major distributions you might run into driver problems.
See http://h18004.www1.hp.com/products/servers/linux/hplinuxcert.html for supported Linux Distributions.
Here's the quickspecs for the ML110 G5

See under core options for the NICs you can buy for it.
HP NC360T PCI Express Dual Port Gigabit Server Adapter 412648-B21
seems like a good choice.

Re: Looking for advice, IPCOP installation
Thanks for your response !
Does "HP NC360T PCI Express Dual Port Gigabit Server Adapter 412648-B21" mean that the server has 2 additional ethernet ports ? ( default RJ45 LAN port, plus HP NC360T "dual port", = 3 ethernet ports ? ).
Thanks !

Re: Looking for advice, IPCOP installation
And yes, you got it right.
The ML110 has as one builtin NIC on the system board and with that extra NIC you will have three in total.
