Lost IP Settings After Reboot
On reboot the settings on the tcp/ip setting remain but ipconfig /all reveals all ip settings have been set to 0.0.0.0
This is occuring to 3 servers, but not to the server which have been configured in an identical manner. Each has its network cards teamed. The cards used are HP NC7781 Gigabit Server Adapter. To renew the ip settings the network cards are teamed again.
When looking at the event log the eventid 4202 appears. "The system detected the network adapter Connection was disconnected from the network, and the networks adapter`s network configuration has been released. If the the network adapter was not disconnected, this may indicate that it has malfunctioned. Please contact your vendor for driver updates."
Please assist. Thanks.

Re: Lost IP Settings After Reboot
try setting the following registry key
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters]
"DisableDHCPMediaSense"=dword:00000001
this will disable DHCP media sense, and probablly preserve the configuration. this is known to happen to MSCS nodes.

There have been Innumerable people who have helped me. Of course, I've managed to piss most of them off.
