Microgen8 doesnt load correctly.
Hello.
I have tried to return to the factory state the server BIOS without success. Try to change the switches and change the position of the jumper and finally remove the battery to try but I have not succeeded.
Now the server is hanging on the loading screen "Processor Initialization in Porgress" and does not advance with the fan at full power.
I don't know how to correct it. A greeting and thanks in advance

Re: Microgen8 doesnt load correctly.
Hello Xandor,
The server has an active ROM used for booting and a backup ROM.
If you update the BIOS, the new version will be written into the backup location and the backup becomes active, the active becomes backup.
If the system detects a problem with the active, it switches to the backup. You can force this action either from BIOS itself (RBSU) or by setting the maintenance switches 1, 5, 6.
But if both ROMs are failed, your system cannot boot at all
I would suggest you, clear the NVRAM as follow the below steps.
- Power off the server and remove the power cable.
- Open the server and turn SW6 ON.
- Power ON the server and wait for display (Screen will say the system has been reset (or something similar))
- Power off the server and remove the power cable.
- Turn SW6 OFF. Close the server and boot normally. Refer to the maintenance and service guide for the location of SW6
HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 Maintenance and Service Guide ( follow the page no 72 and for battery follow page no 61)

Re: Microgen8 doesnt load correctly.
Thank you very much for answering.
I already tried that, I currently have the server with switches 1, 5 and 6 activated but on the screen by video output or by ILO it does not tell me anything. There is no signal and it stays flashing green, inlucos I changed the battery of the bios thinking that it could fail but it is not that either.
A greeting.

Re: Microgen8 doesnt load correctly.
Hello,
Try to clear the NVRAM again as follow the below steps.
Power off the server and remove the power cable.
Open the server and turn SW6 ON.
Power ON the server, no issue if no display. wait for 5 minutes.
Power off the server and remove the power cable.
Turn SW6 OFF.
The System board needs to be replaced if the issue still persists.

Re: Microgen8 doesnt load correctly.
Hi.
I have already tried, but after leaving it for 10 minutes with the switch 6 ON it was still flashing green and since I could not turn it off in any way to make it turn orange I have directly disconnected the power supply cable. I have allowed all the electricity to be spent by pressing the POWER button several times to eliminate it, I have lowered switch 6 and I have plugged in the cable again. I turned it on and it keeps flashing green.
Is the server dead?
edit: I dont know if i said but ILO works perfectly.
This is my firmware right now:
