Problem installing Scalable UPS Card
Hello everybody! I have two (2) UPS (one HP model R6000 and one Compaq model R6000) and I was using LanSafe to manage them separately. Recently, Iâ ve bought HPâ s Scalable UPS Card in order to manage my two UPS as one unit, but I have problems installing itâ ¦
·Iâ ve done all the necessary connections:
1.UPS1 port of Scalable Card is connected to my first UPS
2.UPS2 port of Scalable Card is connected to my second UPS
3.CPU port is connected to a serial port of my ML370 Proliant server (Windows 2003)
·From a white paper, I found out that in order to use the scalable card my UPS must have the following characteristics:
1.Control board firmware at a minimum code REV of 2.00
2.Communications board at a minimum code of 1.00d
3.Scalable options board at a minimum code of REV 006
So, I upgrade my two UPS and now HP UPS has REV 2.00 and 1.04 and Compaq UPS has REV 2.00 and 1.01.
·Iâ ve installed â Insight Managerâ and â HP Rack and Power Managerâ but server doesnâ t seem to communicate with s

Re: Problem installing Scalable UPS Card
My message doesn't seem to be readable so I will post it again:
I have 2 ups (R6000).I've bought a scalable ups card in order to manage them as one unit.
The connections from one ups to the other and to my server seems to be ok.
My 2 ups have the required firmware versions.
But, when I try to communicate with the ups (with the scalable ups card)through "Rack and Power Manager" the result is zero.It seems that there is no communication between server and ups. What can I do?
