I have also bought a 2nd hand unit which is useless to me currently without the password

The only solution I had was to re-contact the guy who sold it to me.
He gave me a list of old passwords he knew and one was working.
Something I learned since then is to always ask for any existing password before to buy a 2nd hand device!

I'm also stuck with an old console of ours and the serial setup port is not responding to any attempt with any serial config.
