SAN Server Configuration

Hello every one

Please I need a help in my case:

I have two servers DL 380 G10  with no hard drives, both are connected through fibre (SFP) to a MSA 2050 SAN Server with 4 SSD each 1.9 TB, I have vSphere 7.0 installed on the servers,,,,,, I need to know how to configure the Server or the Hypervisor (vSphere) or the MSA 2050, so that I assign two SSDs to each server and how I can see the storage from the server (vSphere) to start deploying the vms.

Sorry if I make it long, but I `m new tothe servers and appreciate any help

Re: SAN Server Configuration

Hi,

The configuration from MSA end is quite simple.

You could create a disk group in RAID 1 using 2 SSD hard drives under each Pool.

The next step would be to create a volume under each Pool and map to ESXI host servers.

You may refer to the SMU guide for information on creating a disk group, volume and volume mapping:

Please refer to the MSA vmware best practices guide as well:
