Hi
I just installed HPE Power Protector software
Connected the UPS (R1500 G3) via USB cabel
Ran a Device discovery and the UPS showed up.
After a while the sodtware (under Power source) reports "The acquisition is hanging", everythings else looks fine.
Under Event list it reports Name: 3C84330800, Message: "Reported communication error" (I does not update, there is only one message and it's from the first time it was detected)
There are no serial port on my servers, so I cannot try that.
I have tryed to switch USB cabel, with no result.
Please help, google was not my friend on this issue

Re: UPS Reported communication error
HI
Check if the UPS in visible in BIOS when connected to USB
Check if you are using the latest HP Power Protector.
Update the UPS firmware to latest and check for the issue.
If the issue persists, I would recommend to raise a support case with HPE.

SolutionHi
I was suggested to use another version of the HPE Power Protector Software.
I was running the newest, so i tried version 1.06 vith no luck.
But version 1.05 is working with no problem..
I was already running the newest firmware.
So I guess the problem is solved by using an older version of power protector.

Re: UPS Reported communication error
Where can you get the older versions of this software?
