Unable to assign IP to HP UPS R3000XR using serial port configuration cable
Hello,
I shutdown the UPS, installed the SNMP/Serial port card and powered up the UPS.
I have now connected the ethernet cable to the switch (the green light illuminated) and connected the configuration cable to the serial port on the computer.
I then installed HyperTerminal on my laptop and set the COM3 properties to 9600,8,1,N. Using the ASCII Setup I ticked the "echo typed characters locally".
However when I type:
IP
Then enter
No IP address is returned meaning I cannot assign the new IP.
I have checked the configuration cable (RS232) by creating a loop back connector and testing this using HyperTerminal and I get the letters I type doubling, i.e. IIPP.
Has anyone else had an issue assigning an IP address to their UPS and what they did to resolve this issue?
