Using generic Intel SSD in DL360p Gen8 with Smart Array P420i

Hello,

I have HPE DL360p Gen8 with Smart Array P420i and two SSDs RAID-1 following model:

LK1600GEYMV (804631-B21)

Information about the SSD from ssacli below.

As I now it's Intel SSD DC S3610 1.6TB.

Can I use generic Intel SSD as hot spare for that RAID-1? How I can update firmware for right version?

Thanks for your advice!

Can I use generic Intel SSD as hot spare for that RAID-1?
>>If RAID-1 is create with different technology of hard drive (eg. magnetic media drives) you cannot make SSD as hot spare drive for same logical drive.

How I can update firmware for right version?
>>You can search the firmware on goggle or HPE download and driver with Model of the hard drive.
eg.
Model: ATA LK1600GEYMV

Hi Grishko ,

If you want to add hot spare for the existing array ,then the new drive should be same type/Technology.And use drives that have a capacity equal to or larger than the capacity of the drive in the array.

HPE is recommending to use the parts which is supported as per server quick specs and spare parts document below

HP ProLiant DL360p Generation 8 (Gen8) -QuickSpecs

Please find the below link for the HDD-Model-LK1600GEYMV firmware.

If you are looking for other vendor hard drive firmware ,then you need to check with Hard drive vendor website to get the right firmware .

Thank you for your reply!

Please clarify.

As we see in the photo above LK1600GEYMV (804631-B21) is Intel SSD DC S3610 1.6TB.

Can we update firmware by using your link on Intel SSD DC S3610 1.6TB and get LK1600GEYMV (804631-B21) after this operation?
