XR5500 UPS charge load

Does anybody have an idea what an HP UPS XR5500 is pulling when it's charging it's battery? What extra input current do we need to foresee?

Re: XR5500 UPS charge load

With nominal line voltage, a full load and discharged batteries, the UPS should be pulling about 24A. The UPS should be powered by a dedicated 30A circuit breaker.

Re: XR5500 UPS charge load

Be aware of 110V vs. 220V and see

Hope this helps!

Re: XR5500 UPS charge load

I would guess that a 5500 would pull a few amps on no external load (ie. just running it's own electronics and trickle charging circuits).
