Re: print_bad_pte HPE PROLIANT DL360 GEN9 8SFF

Hello,
Thank you for contacting HPE Support,

The shared error message (.kernel: "[<ffffffff81154c46>] ? print_bad_pte+0x1d6/0x2b0) Normally appears when there is memory pressure,
From the Hardware side there are very less suspects however you may try the below steps to rule any hardware issues.

1> Physically check the health Led status of the server
2> Log in to ILO and check the overall health status of the server also check the Memory and CPU section
3> Please check in IML for any entries related to hardware failure
4> Please Make sure the BIos and ILO firmware's are up to date
5> If none of the above steps shows any issues then you might have to check with OS vendor since the "Kernel " and other errors are related to OS.

Thanks

Thank you verymuch for the reply

1> Physically check the health Led status of the server || There is no amber light. We are reciving this alarm time to time. not frequently.

2> Log in to ILO and check the overall health status of the server also check the Memory and CPU section || Also ILO helth is OK. 8 x 16GB RDIMMs are installed here.
3> Please check in IML for any entries related to hardware failure. || There is no any hardware failure. Recently we change the smart storage battery. But we received this alarm also few months ago.
4> Please Make sure the BIos and ILO firmware's are up to date || Yes already upgraded
5> If none of the above steps shows any issues then you might have to check with OS vendor since the "Kernel " and other errors are related to OS. || RHEL 6.7 we are using. alaready raised the case with them. they are saying that check the hardware or update the kernal

Thanks for sharing additional details,

If there are No errors, No Fault Led and the firmware's and divers are updated to latest then the Hardware issue is ruled out,
