proliant dl325 gen10 updated with spp 2021.04, fans at 30% (too much noise)
Hi, our proliant dl325 gen10 fully updated has fans at 30% aprox. and is noisy,
sometimes with a cold reboot, fans become slower and the noise goes down quite a bit
there is some option in the bios to lower the speed of fans permanently?
thanks in advance

Re: proliant dl325 gen10 updated with spp 2021.04, fans at 30% (too much noise)
Hello,
It is working as per design.
You can try as below recommendations.
Plan A
I would suggested you to do this follow these steps for isolating the issue.
->Press F9 → select System Configuration → BIOS/Platform Configuration (RBSU) → Advanced Options → FAN and Thermal Options → Thermal Configuration → Increased Cooling
Follow the plan B,if the issue still persists.
Plan B
I would request you disable NIC from the system bios to isolate the issue.
Follow the below steps to disable the NIC.
1.Reboot the server
2. Press F9----->RBSU------>PCIe device Configuration------>Embedded LOM 1:HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331i Adapter-NIC------->PCIe device disable----->Disable----->Save and Exit
3.After disabling NIC, the server will restart and wait till the OS boot.
4.Shut down the server and remove the power cables.
5.Hold on power on switch for 30-60 sec.
6.Power on the server after 5 minutes.
7.Observe the FAN speed. the FAN noise decrees or not
8.Collect the AHS report and FAN snapshot from the ILO home page after 10 minutes.
9.After that re-enable the NIC.
10.Reboot the server-- Press F9----->RBSU------>PCIe device Configuration------>Embedded LOM 1:HPE Ethernet 1Gb 4-port 331i Adapter-NIC------->PCIe device disable----->Enable----->Save and Exit
11. Shut down the server and remove the power cables.
12.Hold on power on switch for 30-60 sec.
13.Power on the server after 5 minutes.
14.Observe the FAN speed. If the FAN noise decrees or low.
