upsmgrclient indicates lost connection - How do I check the upsmgr II configuration?

I think I got some big problems with my UPS Manager II configuration. I ran ../client/bin/upsmgrclient and it shows the Lost Connection light turned on. What do I check.

When upsmgrclient starts up it normally shows yellow until it has time to check the server. Make sure you are starting it up on the server that is running the UPS Manager software and not the client.

If that does not help, page 6-8 of the HP UPS Manager II manual shows how to restart the manager -

/opt/upsmgr/manager/bin/upsmgrstop

followed by

/opt/upsmgr/manager/bin/upsmgrstart

That has worked for me when I had lost communications.
