HP ProLiant MicroServer has been certified for Windows Server and Red Hat Linux.  And now, the latest Microsoft offering Windows Server 2012 R2 has been certified on the HP ProLiant MicroServer.  See the HP OS support matrix for the complete list.

The HP ProLiant MicroServer is a general purpose server that provides an infrastructure for either Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials edition (a unique cloud-enabled solution) or Windows Server 2012 R2 Foundation edition (providing a familiar Windows user interface).  The HP ProLiant MicroServer is a cost-effective starter server recommended for businesses with fewer than ten clients.

When deploying Windows Server 2012 R2, Microsoft recommends minimum hardware requirements of 1.4 GHz 64-bit for the CPU, a minimum of 2GB of RAM, Error-corrected Code memory (ECC), and storage minimums (32 GBs for Foundation and 160 GBs for Essentials).

The HP ProLiant MicroServer is upgradeable to a maximum of 8 GB of RAM and 4 drives with a maximum configuration of 8 TB.  HP ProLiant options available for the ProLiant MicroServer can be found on the QuickSpecs.
