Intel Achieves Impressive Performance Increase in EDA Applications Workload With HP Apollo

As the worldโs largest chip maker, Intel is constantly looking for ways to improve performance within the same space and power envelope. HP worked collaboratively with Intel to develop the new HP Apollo 6000 System. According to Intel CIO, Kim Stevenson, โWe are seeing up to 35% performance increase in our Electronic Design Automation application workloads. We have deployed more than 5,000 of these servers, achieving better rack density and power efficiency, while delivering higher application performance to Intel silicon design engineers.โ
Executives at Intel, set the bar higher for the companyโs own IT infrastructure. Across Intelโs 59 datacenters, there are 39,000 servers supporting its EDA applications. The cluster used to run the electronic design automation software runs on an impressive 610,000 Xeon cores.
