Make Real-Time IT Decisions Remotely With Effective Monitoring!

Camping is something my family finds very enjoyable and relaxing. We try to go at least once a month to various state parks in the area. While it gives us a chance to get away from the everyday distractions so that we can enjoy nature, it also allows quality family time before my two girls are too cool to be seen with mom and dad. I will be honest and admit that even when camping we have our phones and tablets as well as a laptop. On our tablets, we have an app called Starglobe. Starglobe uses GPS location to show you the constellations above you. In town we really don’t get to see that many stars but when we get out in the woods they light up the night sky. Starglobe allows us to easily spot and discuss those stars.


Recently we were camping with another family and the husband was able to access security cameras in and around his house with any web browser. His teenaged daughter hadn’t gone on the trip and occasionally he would check on the cameras to keep a watchful eye on her. He loves his daughter and wanted to ensure she was okay, even when he was 2 hours away.


However I need to point out that it’s not just parents who are protective of their children. I am familiar with IT professionals who are just as protective of their “babies” when they are away from the office. HP understands this concern and as a result we “have an app for that.” HP has the HP Support Center Mobile App. This is available for Apple, Android or Windows Phone.


The HP Support Center Mobile App allows you to quickly resolve issues or find answers using Self Solve. This app provides access to mobile optimized content such as Top Issues, Most Accessed Documents, Advisories & Bulletins and Technical Manuals that are specific to your product. You can search the HP support knowledge base and bookmark applicable documents to review later.


Users also have the ability to check contract and warranty status for their Enterprise products as well as engage in chat sessions with HP professionals (if you have a valid warranty, support contract or an HP CarePack).


What’s even more impressive when you are out enjoying the world away from the glow of your monitor is that the HP Support Center Mobile App now includes the Insight Online dashboard for easy tracking of device health and support status from your phone or tablet. Insight Online provides real-time information about your IT environment via a personalized dashboard for quick and efficient infrastructure management. From that dashboard you can see device health and support status and to navigate to details for quick problem resolution. It also gives you access to up to the minute service event information. From your campsite you can view all of the key event information such as the severity, problem description, date and time of the event, event status and related support case ID.


This will allow you to make real time decisions regarding your IT environment as you are out enjoying something that most of us rarely get to see … the outdoors in something other than a web browser.
