SQL Server for Linux Is Here and A New Chapter for Mission Critical

We were excited to learn that Microsoft had decided to bring its industry-leading relational database engine to the enterprise Linux ecosystem. In the market for nearly thirty years, SQL Server has long been viewed as a strong and reliable resource for department/branch database needs. With a series of enhancements in recent years, SQL Server has become an excellent choice for mission-critical enterprise workloads as well.

Now, with the addition of compatibility with Linux and Docker, SQL Server is a strong candidate for a wide range of core operations in the enterprise, including critical ones requiring high levels of availability or currently hosted on Oracle and other enterprise-class databases.

Interested in migrating from Oracle to SQL Server, but committed to Linux? Maybe it’s time to take a second look.
