ASM on HP 11.31 running HP Service Guard

Hi

I am implementing Oracle 10gR2 on an HP 11.31 running Hp Service Guard.I searched through resource center and metalink but I don't seem to be getting a step by step implementation of this except marketing info.We are not configuring RAC.The fail over will be handled by HP service guard but our database will be running ASM.Anyone with a step by step manual and again what are the pro and cons of this in terms of high availability.

Shalom,

If you have a metalink id then you should create a service request for the document.

Here is what I found from the OS perspective.

http://docs.hp.com/en/B5736-90074/ch03s02.html

http://docs.hp.com/en/T1859-90048/ch02.html

Setup is very similar to that for RAC, BTW.

There is a service guard extension for Oracle server you can purchase. Otherwise the database start script is just like any other service guard start up package.

Re: ASM on HP 11.31 running HP Service Guard

Hy,

We are using Oracle10gR2+RAC+SGextensionforRAC+SLVM

And it has been working great for some time now.

I think oracle with RAC is the way to go. If I where to leave something out would be Service guard, and build a Cluster ready rac with asm.
Windows?, no thanks
