Can I run Service Guard in different hardware?

Hi, Guys.

I have one Cluster Service Guard with two servers ( 2 x RP4440), can I add third server with different hardware like (RP3440)?

Thanks.

Re: Can I run Service Guard in different hardware?

Yes, you can do that.  Just be aware that if you fail a package from one of the rp4440s to the rp3440 that you will likely have different resource availability (less RAM, less CPU, etc.).

Re: Can I run Service Guard in different hardware?

Yes i have had clusters with different sets of equipment and storage where some packages failed over to a subset of systems as well as clusters where the packages failed over to dissilimar hardware. In those cases the disks had different device names on different systems. Remember as long as the volume groups are properly defined on each node and activates correctly it should work fine.
