DNS HA thru HP-UX ServiceGuard

HI,

 

if anyone has done DNS HA thru HP-UX ServiceGuard?

 

It does not sound good but i wanna know .

Do you really need true HA for DNS?

Most (all?) DNS client implementations support at least 2 servers in their configuration, with automatic failover if one is down. If you're dealing with external DNS, then multiple NS records will achieve the same thing.

I would simply bring up both servers independently in parallel and configure the clients/NS records appropriately.
