Disk Monitor on SGLX
We configured a Disk Monitor service for a package. The package and the service are running OK. We did unplug the scsi connector from the node running the package. We got I/O errors but the node did not reboot and the package did not swith over.
How can I do a test to ensure that the disk monitor is working correctly.
thanks,
Nourreddine

Re: Disk Monitor on SGLX
In the lab.
Pull or power off a monitored disk, see what the cluster does.

Re: Disk Monitor on SGLX
Our setup is the following :
Two Proliant DL580 nodes with an MSA500 G2 storage. The idea was to unplug the SCSI connector from One node (the primary node for a given package). We since make an advance and discovered that Disk Monitor will work as expected if the monitored device is a partition from the same LUN but outside the control of LVM!
For example :
LUN : /dev/cciss/c1d0
Parttion used as an LVM PV for the package : /dev/cciss/c1d0p1
Partition to monitor : /dev/cciss/c1d0p2 . It is actually a small partition of 100K and not used at all.
If we try monitoring /dev/cciss/c1d0p1, it does not work.
Do you have any explanation to this behavior.
Thanks!

Re: Disk Monitor on SGLX
PLease find attached the requested files.
This configuration actually works fine.
But if we try to monitor /dev/cciss/c1d1p2, it does not work at all.

Re: Disk Monitor on SGLX
If this configuration that you've added actually works, and changing to another disk does not, did you go through the process of changing the monitored disk? Specifically, did you delete the XML file? Check the latest doc http://docs.hp.com/en/B9903-90050/B9903-90050.pdf
starting at the bottom pf page 208.
Also, did you re-apply the package?
