EMS problems when using MC/SG
I have 2 x RP5405 with one VA7410
The RP5405 are in a MC/SG cluster.
Since I have configured the cluster, I have several critical EMS messages.
They are related to the diskarray monitor which detects errors with the internal disks !!!!
It seems like the diskarray monitor (/StorageAreaNetwork/events/SAN_Monitor) sees the internal disks as disk arrays.
The monitor is the RemoteMonitor.
Has anyone encountered the same problem ????
I can disable DiskArray in /var/stm/config/tools/monitor/RemoteMonitor.cfg file.
But I need it to monitor the VA7410.
Help please !!!!!!
Thanks in advance.

Re: EMS problems when using MC/SG
Ems can sometimes have problems with timeouts to devices and also with the chain to the devive it is checking.
No hp box here to check it but look at man vgchange for timeouts.

Re: EMS problems when using MC/SG
Do you have the latest patches??
There could be an issue that can be solved by this.
Which version of SG? OS?
Hope this helps

Re: EMS problems when using MC/SG
Thanks for your quick replies.
We are in HPUX 11i with the latest patch bundles (sept 2002).
The problem appeared when we configured and started MC/SG.
It seems that MC/SG modified the EMS configuration, and we have now diskarray monitors
which are monitoring the internal disks.
The monitor is RemoteMonitor and I don't know how
to prevent it from monitoring internal disks.

Re: EMS problems when using MC/SG
So you have:
PHSS_28075 (11.11)
Have you tried to enter in the paths to the internal drives in the disable_instances file?
Hope this helps
